The crew at Lightner Motorsports headed back to Motorama at the Pennsylvania Farm Show building this year for what was promised to be “The ultimate motorsports extravaganza and custom car show in the nation. “and once again, we were not disappointed. With a spectator turn-out of over 47,500, 2,000 racers, 700 show cars on display and countless vendors spread over almost 30 acres under one roof this show can tickle any automotive itch you may have.
To get the Lightner Motorsports Late Model ready to show this season the team spent many hours in the shop trying to “undo” all the evidence of the fun they had during last year’s race season. This included getting rid of the old body and having the frame stripped and powder coated by Powder Works in Marysville, PA. Once the frame looked like new they took on the task of building a new body for the car; a project led by Dean Rudy who is the team’s most seasoned vet in the world of dirt track racing.
As soon as the new body was on the car, it was all taken to Reaction Graffix by way of a Myers’ Towing & Auto Repair rollback. Tyler Long of Reaction Graffix then designed the new layout and completed the vinyl wrap on the car. The quality of the wrap is incredible and if you look in the picture below, you can see the reflective product used on the numbers so our car is sure to stand out in the crowd.
All the hard work done to the car in preparation for the event paid off big as crowds of people swarmed the Lightner Motorsports/ Vegas Fuel & Reaction Graffix booth all weekend. Our sponsor got to move their latest energy product; Vegas Fuel Shot tabs and we spent our time talking to people about our car, our accomplishments in the 2010 race season and our hopes for the 2011 show season. This event was a success for our team and it increased our excitement to spend the year with our friends, family and sponsors at the shows we have on our schedule for 2011.
